The Ottawa Social Media Book Club was created in late 2008 by Scott Lake and Kelly Rusk because they enjoyed reading social media books and wanted to get together with others and talk about them.

About every two to three months a book is selected and a date is set to meet up and discuss. The rules are: it always takes place in a bar, and you don’t *have* to read the book to come (but be prepared to listen). We typically discuss the book for an hour or so, and hang around afterward for networking.

The first book club meet up took place on Feb. 5 at Lieutenant’s Pump bar and the book discussed was Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. The location was changed to the Fox & the Feather on Elgin and has remained there every since.
